Bonding time with Daddy

Isn't this a sweet picture? Last week, hubby gave our little boy his very first bottle. We decided to wait until he was six weeks old because a) we weren't in any rush since I am nursing him and luckily, that is all going great and b) all the breastfeeding books suggest waiting until six weeks if possible to give both mom and baby time to adjust to nursing. It was actually quite funny. At first, L had wide eyes and didn't quite know what to do. He was just staring at his Daddy. After a minute or two, he realized it was dinner and went to town on that bottle!

Yesterday, we decided to give L another bottle, just so he won't freak out when he HAS to have one when Mommy isn't around (luckily, he doesn't seem to mind taking a bottle...yay!) This time, big brother helped out. J was SO excited to be feeding his baby. He did a great job - he really is a super-sweet big brother.

Tell J and Daddy that they are doing a great job of feeding L. I am sure that J has been anxiously awaiting the day he could feed L a bottle. That pic of all of them surely does show how L is growing by leaps and bounds. Hugs to all! Ghee and Pa-Pa

I think we are all getting a glimpse at what will be a monumental future event...L's first beer. Notice the care in which his brother holds the bottle. This is to maximize flow while at the same time to minimize excess air. This is assisted by the angle at which the father holds the head. This is insure maximum consumption. PROST!
